About UM BWMC
The University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center provides the highest quality health care services to the communities we serve. Our medical center is home to leading-edge technology, nationally recognized quality, personalized service and outstanding people. We have 285 licensed beds and we're home to over 3,300 employees and 1,000 medical staff members.
Our expert physicians and experienced, compassionate staff are connected to medical practices in the local community as well as at University of Maryland Medical Center in downtown Baltimore. For patients, this means access to high-quality care and research discoveries aimed at improving Maryland's health.

A Better State of Care
At UM BWMC, you not only receive excellent care from our community providers and experts, but you also have access to top University of Maryland specialists across our integrated health system.
Zak Kriscumas was brought to UM BWMC after experiencing an injury during football practice, shattering his tibia and fibula. Due to the severity of Zak's injury, he was transferred to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center, where experts surgically repaired his leg. That's a better state of care.
