The Baltimore Washington Spine and Neuroscience Center uses minimally invasive techniques and pain management therapies to provide state-of-the-art, comprehensive spine care. Practitioners include spinal surgeons, anesthesiologists, physiatrists, surgical hospitalists, physical therapists and nurse practitioners to coordinate the most advanced and modern treatments currently available.
Both CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) and Aetna have recognized the Baltimore Washington Spine and Neuroscience Center for excellence in high-quality care and clinical performance. CareFirst designated BWMC as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery. The distinctions are awarded to medical facilities that have demonstrated expertise in delivering quality healthcare. The Aetna Institutes of Quality® Orthopedic Care for Spine Surgery designates hospitals and facilities in their network as “Institutes of Quality” based upon an evaluation of clinical performance and overall value.
The center offers:
• A comprehensive approach to care through evaluation and the development of an effective treatment plan
• A multidisciplinary approach that considers all treatment options before a surgical decision is made
• Fellowship-trained and board-certified/board-eligible orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons and specialty-trained pain practitioners
• Dedicated nurse practitioners and surgical hospitalists who coordinate inpatient care and support services
